Just saw where Hauser beat North Decatur 14-0 to go to 10-8 for the season. Apparently the Friday Edinburgh and Saturday Morristown DH were all rained out.
Dale- I'm assuming Ross pitched again yesterday. Any chance that he threw his third straight no-hit shutout?

He pitched a 2-hitter. The paper said he now has 18 straight shutout innings. He also homered.

Cool. It's great that we have that kid for baseball and basketball for another year.
Does anybody know whether the Triton Central- Indian Creek game got rained out a couple of weeks ago? I didn't catch the score so I figured it did. I believe Hauser has lost only the one MHC game w/ TC. If IC or anybody else were to upset TC, Hauser could win out and salvage a conference tie.
5/19 edits: If I tallied things up correctly, Hauser is 6-1 in league play with only the Edinburgh and Morristown rainouts to make up.
It would really suck if Hauser finishes up league play with only one loss and the TC-IC game doesn't get made up. IC at 10-5 stands a decent chance of beating the Tigers if they can manage to scratch out a couple of runs against the TC staff. With Sectionals looming only a few days away, you've got to wonder if the game can get worked in.
Neither team (particularly TC since they're in the league lead anyway with a chance of dropping into a tie) may be all that crazy about playing the game if it's going to affect preparation for the tourney.

Congratulations, Jets on a DH sweep of Brown County: 9-6 and 5-2 to go to 13-8 for the season. Good job.

Just saw where Hauser squeaked out an 8-7 eight inning win against a Morristown team that had really been struggling. They play Edinburgh home and away tomorrow and Thursday... not sure which of them are conference games.
Hopefully Triton Central and Indian Creek are making the same effort in getting their remaining game in.

Mid-Hoosier Conference leader Triton Central came away with an impressive 10-7 win against 20-3, #3 in 3A Greensburg. The Tigers may very well be poised to take their 2nd 2A state championship in three years with their two senior aces, Broughton and Early on the mound.

The Jets used mostly freshman and soph. picthers the first 3 innings and Turner came in and only gave up 1 run and ko 11 in 5 innings. The Jets will play Edinburgh the next 2 games one at home and one at Edinburgh. I think it will be thursday and Friday. I don't think Indian creek can beat TC I con't fin anything yet to see if they have played yet. TC beat a good Greensburg team Monday night.

Hauser finishes the regular season at 16-8. Looking at the Jets eight losses, they were all to solid teams:
18-4 Brownstown Central- #10 in 2A 18-7 Triton Central- just outside of the 2A Top 10 but very capable of winning the 2A championship with Broughton and Early on the mound. Lutheran (DH split)- don't have their W-L record but I'm fairly certain they're over .500 and they just recently upset Triton Central. 21-4 Greensburg- #3 in 3A 18-7 JacCenDel (lost two one-run DH games)- #9 in 1A 17-7 Columbus North- a very good 4A team 3A Batesville- don't have their complete W-L record but they beat Columbus North and seem to be at or above .500 even after losing some real close games to some good teams: one-run games to Harrison OH (also lost by two in the 2nd game of that DH), a very good Lawrenceburg team, Greensburg in 8 innings and East Central.

Hauser beat Morristown 12-4 to claim their 2nd straight sectional title and will play the winner of the Shawe sectional which Rising Sun and Oldenburg will play for the championship. The Jet have won 9 games in a row .

Looking at this site, it looks like they play at Oldenburg Tuesday, at either 4 or 7 PM depending upon whether they have lights. Link: www.ihsaa.org/b-baseball_frame.htmI would say that was a fairly big upset that Oldenburg was able to beat JCD 4-3. I saw where #2 in 1A Henryville got tripped up by South Central and #1 LCC is already penciled in for the state finals. Link: www.ihsbca.org/Scores.asp?ClassID=1

Mojo: I believe the game will be at Oldenburg Tuesday at 4 pm I made a misstake before it should be at the Shawe sectionals winners home which was Oldenburg. Last year Hauser had the home field and this year The other sectional has it. Hauser beat Oldenburg at Oldenburg earlier in the year 4-2. Last year the Jet scored 4 in the last innning to beat Oldenburg in the regional. Should be a tight game with Ross pitching for Hauser and Nixer pitching for Oldenburg.
