Who are some of the most storied baseball programs? Who sends a lot of guys to the next level?
My vote is Pendleton Heights. They send a ton of kids to play at the next level and have had a couple of guys play in the minors and majors. Another program that's come on lately that I know of is Brownsburg.

I don't know how many other kids have moved on from there, But Jasper had a guy named Scott Rolen. Maybe you've heard of him.

Forest Park currently has a few players at the College level and at least one (Andy Rohleder) playing at the Professional level...It has a beautiful facility and always dominates the Blue Chip Conference.

I don't know if there are two more feared baseball names in the state than LaPorte and Jasper, who always seem to be going to Indianapolis.
Pendleton Heights has been good of late (but have they ever won a state title?). Brownsburg is becoming a power, but they haven't won a championship, either.

Wapahani has a pretty rich history for a small school. They were very tough in 1a and when they moved up to 2a all they did was get second in the state finals while riding the back of a great pitcher in Van Matre. Not sure how they'll be this year but it's a strong program so they'll probably be a contender.

Pendleton Heights is one of the top tier programs in the state thanks to their coach Bill Stout. The only thing Stout seems to be missing from his resume is that State Championship. His teams are very fundamentally sound and seem to reload every year. He has completely built the program from the ground up and his work ethic (as a coach) seems next to none. PH seems to never be able to get over the "hump" as they lost a couple of years ago in their own regional while being about 31-1.... not too bad, but nothing to show for it. Right now they have their first guy in the majors, a pitcher in the D-Backs organization. Lastly, if you've seen their field, since losing a sectional some years back, it seems to get better and better EVERY year. Who knows what the coach has in store for it this year, but last year, if i remember right, they installed new fencing, dirt mound seating, bullpens, and bleachers. Before that i saw restrooms and lights. What this school puts into its baseball/softball facilities, year after year, seems extraordinary.

Pendleton Heights is one of the top tier programs in the state thanks to their coach Bill Stout. The only thing Stout seems to be missing from his resume is that State Championship. Stoudt's teams are always good ... two years ago, they were phenomenal, ranked nationally, and ended up getting beat by New Palestine at home in the regional in what was an unbelievably big upset (that game might have been the impetus for the spectator mounds -- fans were lined up two and three-deep all the way down the foul lines that night). They always have good pitching, but more impressively, everybody on that team seems to be able to mash the ball year-in and year-out. I'd expect PH to contend for a 3A championship or two soon. They've had the misfortune of getting beat by Andrew Clark the last two years (and last year was a rebuilding year), but they're a very good program.

We are lucky enough to have Levi Soulters of VLHS and Chris Schmidt of Jasper to be playing for us here at Indiana State University....I know that I seem to be stuck on those two schools....but they just amaze me....I haven't been to far out of my way for baseball games either, that makes me think of them more often too
